About The Glass

Wulinantikala / Cradle Mountain is the silhouette every Tasmanian grows up with, the ridgeline that breaks the skyline above Dove Lake with the unmistakable Little Horn peak alongside it. This twin set carries both: one glass with the ridgeline, one with Little Horn, the two peaks of the same range hand-pressed in 3D into the base.

A matched pair of Old Fashioned glasses, designed to be poured and toasted together. At 300ml each, they work beautifully for spirits neat, short cocktails, or a daily water glass with Tasmania's most recognised peak at the bottom of every pour.

Made to share. Our best-selling twin set, made for anyone who's walked the Overland Track, stood at Dove Lake, or simply grown up looking at this mountain on a postcard.

Tasmania Collection

Two glasses, one wild peak.

Wulinantikala has stood at the heart of Tasmania for longer than there have been names for it. The ridgeline rises sharply above Dove Lake, with the unmistakable Little Horn peak breaking the skyline alongside the cradle-shaped saddle that gives the mountain its English name. To see it once is to remember the shape of it forever.

The mountain sits inside the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, the northern end of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. The Overland Track starts here, sixty-five kilometres of alpine plateau and ancient pencil pines that leads walkers all the way south to Lake St Clair. It is one of the great walks of the world, and the view back over the cradle on the first morning is the moment most walkers say the country opens to them.

For the Palawa people, this country has been home for more than 60,000 years. The Palawa Kani name, Wulinantikala, is the one we use first, in honour of that. In 2022 the protected area marked its centenary; a milestone for a place that has been cared for far longer than any century could measure.

We made this twin set to honour that peak, both its faces side by side, the way the range itself holds them. Whether you've walked the Overland Track, stood at Dove Lake at dawn, or only seen Cradle Mountain in a photograph, every pour brings a little of Tasmania back into your hands.

So pour two drinks, find someone to share them with, and raise a glass to the wild.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What are the glasses made from?

Our glasses are made from borosilicate glass, used in Pyrex and ovenware. It's stronger, lighter, and more thermally resistant than standard glass. It can handle daily use, hot or cold drinks, and the rattle of a dishwasher, while keeping the clarity of fine crystal. Avoid pouring boiling water directly into them, as the glass will become very hot.

Are the glasses dishwasher safe?

Absolutely! Every glass in our range is built for daily use and dishwasher safe on the top rack. They stay clear and residue-free over time. The one exception is the Bay of Fires Tallboy, which should be hand washed to protect the coloured resin in the base.

How durable are the glasses?

Borosilicate is one of the most durable glass materials available and withstands everyday use, but no glass is unbreakable, especially on hard surfaces like concrete tiles. Normal handling, washing, and shipping rarely cause breakages.

How do you get the 3D design into the glass?

Each design is hand-pressed into the base. After shaping, the glass is reheated and carefully pressed by hand onto a graphite mould in the shape of the 3D design, forming a raised silhouette of the icon. Once the glass cools, you’re left with a one-of-a-kind glass. Because every piece is pressed by hand, no two are ever exactly alike, so yours carries its own small story of the place it came from.

Do you offer corporate or wholesale orders?

Yes. We work with gift shops, galleries, national park visitor centres, and corporate event organisers across Australia. Custom branding is available and minimum order quantities apply. Visit our wholesale page for full details on pricing, MOQs, and customisation options, or get in touch directly to talk through your brief.
