About The Glass

The Twelve Apostles stand off the limestone coast of Victoria, ancient sea stacks shaped by the Southern Ocean over twenty million years. There were never twelve; today there are eight, with new stacks forming and old ones falling at the pace of the sea itself. The cliffs above are part of Port Campbell National Park, on Eastern Maar Country.

A stemless wine glass with three of the Apostles hand-pressed in 3D into the base, the trio that visitors recognise from every Great Ocean Road photograph. At 440ml, it works beautifully as a wine glass, a cocktail glass, or a daily water glass, with the Southern Ocean sentinels at the bottom of every pour.

We made this for anyone who's driven the road, stood on the boardwalk at sunset, or watched the Apostles change colour as the southern light moves across them.

Victoria Collection

The stacks of the Southern Ocean, captured in glass.

The Twelve Apostles rise from the Southern Ocean off the limestone cliffs of Victoria's south-west coast. They were never twelve; the name was a marketing decision in the 1920s, when the formations were renamed from the Sow and Piglets to attract visitors. Today there are eight stacks standing, each one a remnant of a coastline that was once continuous limestone before the sea cut it apart.

The Apostles are part of Port Campbell National Park, on Eastern Maar Country. They are some of the most photographed natural features in the country, and one of the most-driven roads in the world runs past them. The Great Ocean Road was built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932, a memorial in asphalt that runs for 240 kilometres along the cliffs from Torquay to Allansford. It is, by many counts, the longest war memorial in the world.

The stacks change with the light. At dawn they're rose-gold; at midday they're white; at sunset they turn orange against a dark sea, a sight that fills the boardwalk at Gibson Steps every evening through summer. The Southern Ocean keeps reshaping them. One of the original Apostles collapsed in 2005 in front of tourists; another formation will fall eventually, and another rise. The sea hasn't finished here yet.

We made this glass to honour those sentinels. A small daily reminder of the coast, the road, and the country they sit inside. Whether you've driven the Great Ocean Road or only seen the Apostles in a postcard, every pour brings a little of the southern coast back into your hands.

So pour a drink, find a view, and raise a glass to the wild.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What are the glasses made from?

Our glasses are made from borosilicate glass, used in Pyrex and ovenware. It's stronger, lighter, and more thermally resistant than standard glass. It can handle daily use, hot or cold drinks, and the rattle of a dishwasher, while keeping the clarity of fine crystal. Avoid pouring boiling water directly into them, as the glass will become very hot.

Are the glasses dishwasher safe?

Absolutely! Every glass in our range is built for daily use and dishwasher safe on the top rack. They stay clear and residue-free over time. The one exception is the Bay of Fires Tallboy, which should be hand washed to protect the coloured resin in the base.

How durable are the glasses?

Borosilicate is one of the most durable glass materials available and withstands everyday use, but no glass is unbreakable, especially on hard surfaces like concrete tiles. Normal handling, washing, and shipping rarely cause breakages.

How do you get the 3D design into the glass?

Each design is hand-pressed into the base. After shaping, the glass is reheated and carefully pressed by hand onto a graphite mould in the shape of the 3D design, forming a raised silhouette of the icon. Once the glass cools, you’re left with a one-of-a-kind glass. Because every piece is pressed by hand, no two are ever exactly alike, so yours carries its own small story of the place it came from.

Do you offer corporate or wholesale orders?

Yes. We work with gift shops, galleries, national park visitor centres, and corporate event organisers across Australia. Custom branding is available and minimum order quantities apply. Visit our wholesale page for full details on pricing, MOQs, and customisation options, or get in touch directly to talk through your brief.
